High Street floods Swavesey. Description
A view taken from the edge of the flood water in the High Street looking south towards Middle Watch. The floods extended to Canham's grocers shop in the High Street. In the foreground is Mrs Doris Dawson with her daughter Jennifer. Doris' parents were living at 35 High Street at the time. The lorry was at the deepest place in the flood water. It was passing the new entrance that had been made to Barwell's Tyre remoulding factory in the High Street. Floating in the floodwater are some of the air bags use in the remoulding process. J.S.
