A newly wedded couple leaving Swavesey Church in 1919.The bride, a Miss Joyce Capper, lived with her parents at The Elms, (No 16 Middle Watch). The groom was Major Frederick John Bullen. During the World War 1 she was a Red Cross nurse. She helped nurse wounded soldiers sent to the Red Cross Hospital in the Old House, Blackhorse Lane. It was there that she met her future husband. The person on the left was dressed up as a sweep, It was claimed it brought good luck to the newly weds. J.S.
